All-round employee

All-round employee

Looking for an all-round job on Ameland? At De Vlindertuin you help with breakfast, cleaning, reception and maintenance in a hospitable, green environment.

Taking care of breakfast and cleaning duties is definitely part of your job, because that is the core of the business: offering a well-cared-for holiday.

Our target group consists of guests who want to holiday in a child-friendly and relaxed environment, with an eye for nature. It's no coincidence that our slogan is: Natuurlijk Genieten! Our courtyard garden needs your attention, as do the other facilities we offer. Think of keeping the saunas and barbecues, the playground and the communal room neat and tidy.

Perhaps you see yourself developing more towards building maintenance, or rather towards reception work. Convince us of your added value in our friendly team. In everything we do, working together to give our guests a wonderful holiday is central.

Skills

  • Cleaning the apartments and common areas in and around the complex.
  • Independently carrying out breakfast duties.
  • In the absence of the front office manager, ensuring guests are checked in and out correctly. A command of German is desirable.

Additional opportunities: in the absence of the front office manager, answering the phone and reception duties, and other tasks as they arise, such as garden and building maintenance. Somewhat flexible working hours (extra hours during the holidays and, if necessary, stepping in to cover sickness and team members' holidays: tourism is seasonal work, after all).

Education: LBO/VMBO/MAVO or higher, depending on the composition of the role.
Hours per week: by arrangement, preferably between 10 and 22 hours.
Contract: pay above the collective agreement (CAO) standard (by arrangement), with the prospect of a permanent contract.

Assistant manager

Assistant manager

Do you have a higher professional education (hbo) level and enjoy keeping an overview as a working supervisor, while being just as active in every aspect of the holiday business? Then we are looking for you!

At De Vlindertuin, everyone does their best to make the primary process run smoothly. That means the assistant manager is an all-rounder. Think of tasks such as: answering emails, welcoming guests, housekeeping, pre-checks on housekeeping, breakfast, purchasing and possibly part of the bookkeeping.

You provide the owners with information to further improve all these processes and help think about how we can further develop De Vlindertuin for the target group that loves sustainable travel and values health. Tasks such as developing workshops that fit our pillars are also possible. Supervising interns or taking on part of the HR work are among the possibilities.

In short: tell us in which direction you want to develop, and perhaps there's a match!

Contract: between 20 and 32 hours. Working on Friday and Sunday is necessary (changeover days). Prospect of a permanent job, good pay and a healthy work-life balance.

Breakfast assistant

Breakfast assistant

Breakfast is an important part of the holiday experience. Our guests expect a fresh and extensive breakfast in a well-kept breakfast room.

We work with regional products as much as possible and try to work plastic-free, healthily and in an environmentally conscious way, including when it comes to breakfast.

Preparing breakfast is different every day. Some days you have a small number of guests and time in between to tend the herb garden, do the sauna laundry, keep the sharing cupboard and toy cupboard tidy and spruce up the terrace. On busy days you're more focused on breakfast. We appreciate the work you do; that's why you get paid well and we're flexible, so that you feel welcome in our friendly team.

We are looking for a breakfast assistant who can work independently. The duties consist of setting up the terrace in summer, preparing breakfast, topping up during breakfast hours and clearing up once the guests have left. This work mainly takes place on Friday, Sunday and Monday; the days can be adjusted by arrangement. Working hours are mainly between 7.15 and 11.00.

You are more than a breakfast assistant: you are also a point of contact for guests and handle the check-outs of departing guests. So it is a representative role.

Skills

  • A (spoken) command of German is a requirement.
  • Somewhat flexible working hours.

Education: LBO/VMBO/MAVO.
Hours per week: by arrangement.

Housekeeping

Housekeeping

Cleaning is a craft. Our guests expect a well-kept, clean apartment that has been cleaned with an eye for detail, using environmentally friendly cleaning products, of course.

Cleaning is varied, especially when you work with us: each of the 16 apartments is different. We appreciate the work you do; that is why you are paid well and we are flexible, so that you feel at home in our friendly team.

We are looking for a motivated cleaning employee. The work consists of cleaning apartments, hallways and terraces, mainly on Friday, Sunday and Monday. Working hours are mainly between 10:00 and 15:00. You are expected to enjoy working together and getting stuck in. You are more than a cleaner: sometimes you are also a point of contact for the guests.

Hours per week: 8 to 16 hours. Somewhat flexible working hours. Prospect of more hours and a permanent position.

Internships

Internships

Are you following an MBO or HBO programme in tourism, business administration, facility services or hospitality? Then we may have an internship that suits your wishes and the requirements of your programme.

Together we create a valuable internship. The condition is that hospitality is high on your list of priorities and that you help think about how we can make the business more sustainable.

For the coming season there is also room for an intern who takes part in the primary processes. Sound like something for you? Feel free to get in touch with us.

Graduation projects

Graduation projects

Are you studying at a university of applied sciences or a research university and looking for a research question for your thesis? Then feel free to get in touch with us.

The owners have experience in supervising students of universities of applied sciences in the final phase of their studies. We are happy to help you formulate a research design, but we give you freedom in doing so, and we also expect you to take the lead yourself.

International students are also very welcome to apply. It is important, however, that you have an affinity with socially responsible entrepreneurship that aims to make things better.
