Kunstmaand Ameland is the island's international cultural highlight: throughout November, Ameland turns into an island-wide exhibition. At around 30 locations, from museums, churches and the town hall to hotels and galleries, professional artists from Scandinavia, Germany and the Netherlands, among other places, exhibit their work.
Visitors admire paintings, sculpture, photography and installations, complemented by workshops and talks, and discover the island in a completely different way.
